January
15th, I took both the females to work to check for eggs with the ultrasound
machine. Dr. Heng helped and we were able to find many eggs in both
Hanna and Emmy. Since there has also been recent mating behavior,
I expect the eggs are fertilized and will be laid within two months.
Two eggs can be seen in this image, they are the circular masses on
the lower portion of the screen. Python eggs in early development
can be identified by their location in relation to the gall bladder
and ovaries and by their hypoechoic (darker) margins.
