Hanna lays her eggs!
After several all nighters of waiting her out I became convinced a watched snake never lays. However, a gravid animal can only wait so long before something wonderful comes out!.

I took lots of pics, the best of which are posted in the media gallery: Hanna's 04 Eggs. Videos will be posted in the forums and later here.

05.18.04:

Hanna Basking Inverted!
For those of you who aren't snake breeders, this behavior is thought to help distribute heat more evenly to the eggs - In Burmese, it is a sign that oviposition (egg-laying) is right around the corner.

A couple of pictures of Hanna's inverted, semi-supine, rotated basking are now posted in the forums: Forum report: Hanna basking inverted: eggs on their way!

05.16.04:

Emmy lays her eggs!
After a long all nighter of waiting her out, I caught some ZZZ's mid morning. It turns out, EMMY was the one waiting ME out! She laid them during the day. This made for easy pictures in good light.

You can check them out and see a couple of videos in the forums: Forum report: Emmy lays her eggs!

04.02.04:

We visited the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital's annual open house, lots of tours and lots of people learning about animals! Tons of busses full of enthusiastic kids got to pet Albinoburmese.com's breeding stock! We also got to use a more advanced ultrasound machine to see if we could find embryo's within Hanna's eggs.

Check out a couple of those images!

02.08.04:

The female breeders have ovulated! We brought an ultrasound machine over to my house over the weekend and discovered eggs in each of the girls. The male is now breeding with them - and so far, so good.

I posted a couple pics of the ultrasound in the forums, and have started a topic concerning male mating behavior.

Also posted some pretty wild, albino burmese desktop images for your computer! Free snake pictures are the best kind.
